Pisonia

This piece was created for an exhibition in Detroit titled "You Are Here" It showcases the relationship between the Pisonia tree and the birds that search for food and shelter around the tree. This tree is also known as the bird catcher, if the birds are not careful the seeds from the tree will stick to them and prevent them from flying. But where the birds body lies, covered in seeds, a new tree is born.

Process

First the birds were sketched out in ink, then scanned into photoshop and manipulated for the final posters.

The final posters were displayed in handmade silver frames, with a caption describing the history of the tree, titled bird catcher.
